Hammond is an actor in the star system inspired by vaudevillain-esque ne'er-do-wells. While his appearance has him typecast as everything from mildly frustrating businessmen to sadistic rapists, he's actually quite friendly in person.
Personality

In his work Hammond is confident, sly, and elegant. He moves with surprising grace when the role calls for it, and fumbles openly and honestly when it doesnt. His personality on-set is often described as "cheeky," as he quite likes to get up to mischief with his frequent co-stars Dandelion or Lance. All three together make for a terribly fun time, though it can occasionally result in delays.

Off-set, on the other hand, is a very different story. Hammond is reclusive from the public eye, preferring to avoid social gatherings. He's well known for flaking out of public interactions, especially those where he has to talk to people. While he does fine in one-on-one interviews, he often gets overwhelmed by groups, particularly those who are fans of his work. This is usually excentuated by his friend and partner Dandelion's over-the-top presence and love of attention, though he's thankful when the eyes are off him.

He's been seen hiding behind Lance on multiple occasions, too. If Lance notices, he never says anything about it.

CCC
Relationships

Cabriole Dandelion
Frequently paired with him in their work, Hammond and Dandelion have a close, if snide relationship. The two take great pleasure in trying to break each other's focus during scenes, with Dandelion having the overwhelming advantage in the matter. They spend quite a bit of time together off-set, and Dandelion has even been seen shooing off folks who are alleged to be making Hammond uncomfortable. He's been occasionally called "the Grosvenor Guard Dog" for this, but Dandelion assures that he's just looking out for his friend and partner, who's not quite as confident in the public eye as he comes off in his roles.

Lance Bartram Chandler III
Lance is a massive, imposing force who acts about the same on-set as he does off-set. While usually more serious than his sometimes-partners and co-stars Hammond and Dandelion, he does occasionally like to test their limits. He tends to go overboard during scenes, being forceful to a fault. Hammond is routinely known to snap at him, but is more often keeping Lance and Dandelion from killing each other. The three are just as often seen having fun as they are seen fighting. Notably, Hammond still respects and likes Lance enough to hide behind him during stressful social events. Lance doesn't seem to mind.

Inspirations

^^^ Osamu Tezuka's Hamegg
The family resemblence is obvious, not unlike Hamegg and Milt Gross' villain in He Done Her Wrong. Of course, Peter Lorre gets an honorable mention here, too.
^^^ "Dastardly Whiplash"
A TV-Tropes (ugh) term encompassing the mustache-twirling villains inspired by vaudeville. Characters like Snidely Whiplash, Dick Dastardly, and Dan Backslide are similar parodies of this theme.
^^^ The "Evil Ringmaster" Trope
This is one of those instances where I can remember "evil carny ringmaster" being majorly popular in early 2000s-2010s deviantArt days, but can't point to any one character off the top of my head. Does anyone else remember when Creature Feature's "The Greatest Show Unearthed" was super popular among dA kids?
^^^ "Twisted Fucking Cycle Path"
I actually despise the "tumblr sexyman" wiki and it's nasty behavior and flanderization of characters. But I'm also as much a slut for skrawny, pathetic men with bad intentions, so I have to give it a dishonorable mention.
^^^ Disney Villains
Specifically, but in no particular order: Scar, Captain Hook, Jafar, Judge Claude Frolo, and Dr. Facilier. Effeminate, flamboyant, sadistic men who, were it not for their underhanded tactics, would likely get folded by a strong breeze.
